Parents As Teachers offered at First Step Family Support Center

Parents as Teachers is a nationwide evidence based home visiting program that supports the optimal development of young children by facilitating personal visits centered around positive parenting practices and early childhood development. Children receive regular health and developmental screenings and families are connected to the resources needed to thrive. Parents as Teachers services are available in both English and Spanish, and both Jefferson and Clallam Counties. Parents as Teachers is funded by: The Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and Clallam County.

First Step Family Support Center, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization and United Way agency, has provided support and education services promoting the healthy development of children and families on the North Olympic Peninsula since 1972. The goal of the agency is to provide innovative and family-centered programs to meet the needs of parents and their children in a respectful and responsible manner.
