Services for Substance Using Pregnant People offered by Swedish Medical Center in Ballard

Provides medical detoxification/stabilization, followed by an intensive treatment program. Program involves 26 total days of inpatient treatment. This includes: - Education on smoking cessation, blood borne pathogens, birth control and sexually transmitted diseases - Obstetric evaluations and examinations - Intensive case management and aftercare planning - Family involvement - Education on parenting, childbirth and breastfeeding - Groups on codependency, stress management, processing feelings, meditation, spiritual care, relapse prevention and relationships - Nicotine patch, methadone and subutex are prescribed as appropriate.

Application process

Call for an appointment. Referrals accepted from emergency rooms or primary care physician. Patients may also self-refer.

Fee

Most health insurance and WA Apple Health (Medicaid) are accepted. Will accept Medicare. Medical insurance is not required for admission.

Eligibility

Women, ages 18 and older, in any stage of pregnancy using any substance; drug or alcohol.

Offers general and acute inpatient and outpatient medical services, including an emergency room. Provides OB GYN/Midwifery outpatient care, and serves as a WIC site. Offers inpatient addiction treatment services for pregnant women and a detoxification program for adults. Also offers an inpatient mental health unit.
