Financial Assistance offered at Cancer Lifeline

Offers financial assistance to cancer patients in urgent need who are within a three-month window of treatment. Cancer patients may be eligible for a one-time grant of up to $450 to help with expenses including the following: -  Rent/mortgage -  Utilities -  Food -  Transportation -  Dental care -  Childcare -  Medical supplies - Prescription copays Financial assistance may take up to two to three months, so program is not able to assist with immediate shut-off or eviction notices.

Application process

Electronic application ONLY. Work with oncology social worker or healthcare worker to fill out the online application form.   May take up to two to three months, so program is not able to assist with immediate shut-off or eviction notices. Funds are limited and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis according to availability of funds. Due to limited fund availability, not all eligible applications will be served. Cancer Lifeline PAF may only be awarded one time.

Eligibility

Any patient who has been funded either through the Komen or the Cancer Lifeline fund in the past is not eligible to apply again. Must be considered to have an urgent need such as: -  Utility or shut off notice -  No food and exhausted services from other agencies Household incomes must be at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.   Receive treatment in Western WA, in one of the following counties: Clallam, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston, Wahkiakum, and Whatcom. Active treatment can include taking ongoing cancer suppression drugs and hormone therapy.

Offers support services for people living with cancer. Provides emotional support through the Lifeline, classes and programs specifically designed for the patient, family members, friends and caregivers. Provides cancer specific and general cancer support groups. Offers financial assistance to low-income cancer patients who are within a three-month window of active cancer treatment.
