Parents as Teachers (PAT) offered at St James Family Center

Provides family support and parent education. Advocates visit families to provide support and child guidance. Parent Educators use the Parents as Teachers (PAT) evidence-based home visiting curriculum to support developmentally appropriate activities and information about development, as well as answer parent questions or concerns. Other services offered include developmental screenings, play and learn groups, family fun nights, resource networking and "Welcome Baby Baskets" for families of newborns, including free diapers on an emergency basis.

Provides programs for children and families with the goals of strengthening families through life-long learning, promoting self-sufficiency, and preventing family violence. Operates several child care programs, family and parenting support programs, mentoring programs, domestic violence and shelter services, and a community sexual assault program.
