Family Caregiver Support offered by Chinese Information and Service Center in Seattle

Offers supportive services for caregivers of older adults and adults with a disability.   Services may include: -  Individualized comprehensive needs assessments and develop care plans -  In-home or office visits within King county -  Referrals to support groups, counseling and other resources -  Advice on the use of supplies and equipment -  Limited respite for the caregiver

Eligibility

Unpaid adult caregivers ages 18 and older, caring for someone age 60 and older or an adult age 18 or older with a disability. Caregiver must live in King County. Focuses on limited English-speaking Chinese and other Asian individuals and families.

Chinese Information and Service Center

Multi-service family support center helps Chinese immigrants and their families understand and navigate American culture. Programs include naturalization assistance and ESL classes. Provides supportive case management to Chinese older adults and people with disabilities. Helps older adults sustain independence by providing information and direct assistance. Offers preschool and youth programs as well as bilingual parent education, family counseling and caregiver support. Hosts a free legal clinic.
