Veterans Assistance Fund offered by Community Action of Skagit County at Robert M. Gates Skagit Vet's Connect

Provides temporary financial assistance to veterans and their families in the event of severe financial difficulties.  Items payable by vouchers are food and sundries, rent, utilities, medical, transportation (bus), and vehicle gas.  Other items are payable at the discretion of the program coordinator.

Eligibility

For veterans with 180 days of active duty and an honorable discharge, who have lived in Washington state for 12 months. Income at or below 150% federal poverty level.

A community-based non-profit organization offering a wide variety of services.  The primary purpose is to help low-income persons reach, or maintain, self-sufficiency.
