Grays River Valley Center is a community building that houses multiple services, including a library, food pantry, gymnasium, weight room, fields and picnic grounds, meeting rooms, and a commercial kitchen. Also offers a WIC satellite office.

Libraries supported by public and/or private funds which provide general library services without charge to all residents of a given community, district or region.

Public Libraries

Programs that make conference rooms or other space available to individuals or groups who want to hold meetings or sponsor other public or private gatherings.

Meeting Space

Programs that provide kitchen facilities which homeless people and others in need can use to prepare and serve food. Also included are collective/community kitchen programs that provide facilities where groups of people can plan a menu, purchase ingredients, prepare one or more meals and package the food to be taken home, frozen and used over a period of time; and membership organizations that provide prepared hot meals that participating soup kitchens and meal programs can serve to their clients.

Food Preparation Facilities

Programs that acquire food products through donations, canned food drives, food bank programs or direct purchase and distribute the food to people who are in emergency situations. Some pantries deliver food to people whose disabilities or illnesses make it difficult for them to leave home.

Food Pantries

Centers, often operated by the local community department of parks and recreation, that offer, at a single location, a variety of recreational facilities such as athletic fields and courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool and locker facilities. Recreation centers usually offer an organized program of activities for community residents of all ages and provide all necessary equipment.

Recreation Centers

Programs that provide activities for people who want to improve their strength, flexibility, endurance, muscle tone, reflexes, cardiovascular health and/or other aspects of physical functioning.

Physical Fitness

A public health nutrition program administered by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service that provides nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding support and health care referrals for income-eligible pregnant or postpartum individuals, infants and children up to age five. Foster parents, grandparents, guardians and single fathers who have custody of their children may also be eligible to receive food assistance for children up to age five if they meet income guidelines. WIC provides specific foods to supplement the dietary needs of participants to ensure good health and development. Food packages typically include iron-fortified infant cereal, milk, cheese, eggs, whole grains, peanut butter, beans, fruits, vegetables and juice. Families can shop for WIC foods at most grocery stores using a WIC electronic transfer benefit (EBT) card or vouchers.
