If that office is closed and the emergency is of such a nature that it cannot wait until the next business day (e.g. death in the immediate family), the answering machine will provide instructions for obtaining "after hours" assistance. When there is no NMCRS office in the area, an available Army Emergency Relief, Coast Guard Mutual Aid, or American Red Cross Chapter Office can process your request on behalf of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.

Assists veterans in applying for county funds. Provides forms, screens for eligibility, and assists in making sure all forms are filled out properly and sent to the Mason County Commissioners.
This fund may be disbursed to indigent veterans and their families or the families of those deceased in the amount not to exceed $1,800.00 per applicant per calendar year, not to exceed two years, unless the indigent veteran qualifies for additional funds. After one year of waiting, the veteran may reapply for further assistance with proof of eligibility. (Exceptions are burial and catastrophic expenses) Approval granted only for the following:

2. Past Due Utilities; electric, water or Natural Gas

In accordance with the CARES Act, CWDR is able to provide one-time financial aid to individuals with disabilities in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding to be utilized as rental assistance, food assistance, medical payment/COVID testing fees, utility bills, phone bills, necessary transportation, or to secure PPE and cleaning supplies.
Also provides information and referral assistance in locating accessible housing assistive technology, social security information, transportation, communication access, service animals, and other topic commonly associated with disabilities.

This can assist eligible clients with basic needs including toiletries, toothpaste, shampoo, laundry/dish soap, and bus passes. Financial assistance may include rent, utilities, and move-in assistance if funding is available. Must be referred by DSHS.
Housing and Essential Needs Grant Funds Grant funds can only be used to support HEN eligible clients that qualify as homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Allowable financial assistance for housing may include monthly rent, overdue rent, security deposit, and service animal deposits. Utilities assistance is limited to electricity, natural gas, sewer, water, garbage, and utility deposits. Essential Needs Essential Needs assistance includes help with obtaining personal health and hygiene items (such as toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper), cleaning supplies (such as laundry and dish soap), and bus passes. Assistance cannot be provided through gift cards, vouchers, or certificates. All HEN clients are eligible to receive essential needs assistance.
